What would you do? w/ poll

As many of you know, my wedding is going to be in Connecticut.

Our RH is in CT. Of course, we'll get our limos & hotels from CT. However other vendors...

Our videographer & DJ are from LI. We looked at some from CT, but I just didn't really get the same feeling from them.

We're up to officiant now, and I'm starting to feel a little bit lazy. I contacted a bunch of LI officiants, and I'm debating whether to begin the search for CT officiants.

Here's my deal:

LI officiants are pricier (partially due to travel fees); however ,it is WAY easier to find reviews on them. CT officiants are cheaper (partially due to lack of travel fees), but it is much more difficult to find reviews on them.

Should I look into LI only? CT only? Or stop being lazy and just do the extra research for both?

I need some motivation



In the time it took me to write this post, I probably could've contacted 3 more officiants.


ETA: Don't feel bad saying 'stop being lazy'-- I think I really need that motivation

if the li officiants are in your budget, i would look at both

They have reviews on wedding wire. I belive they are about $300 down here because of travel time, maybe they will be less for you. (not sure how far away it is from you)

You also need to check into the legality of things, if an officiant is registered in the state or whatever. I'm not sure what the deal is in CT but some LI officiants might not be registered to perform ceremonies in the state? So that might solve your problem right there... not sure, but look into it.

To be honest, I'd probably limit my search to CT because then I don't have to factor in travel costs, etc. Planning an OOS wedding comes with some more research and planning, and as far as an officiant goes, I'd stick with CT.

I'd look into both! I would not say that you are being lazy, its just not at the top of your list
