What would you have done?

What would you have done?

Yesterday, I had to go to my dress store because my dress came in and the beading is not symmetrical...so annoying, so they have to rebead it now... ugh!!
But, while I was there a bride was standing in her wedding dress and she looked in the mirror and started crying. She said she hated her dress...she looked so beautiful, I felt so bad for her.
I wanted to tell her how great she looked and that her dress was really beautiful, because from one bride to another we've all had our doubts about our dresses... but I decided to keep quiet because I didn't want to upset her more.
What would you have done??
Also, if that bride is an LIW bride, I just want you to know that you really looked stunning!!! I loved your dress and I'm so sorry you were so upset yesterday!!

I don't think I would have said anything, because she probably would have gotten mad like you were saying it so she would stop crying. . . . I know that I had doubts about my gown I tried a cream gown on ordered it in white and when i saw it in white on another bride i was like OMG i like it better in cream. . . . but i am hoping it will be ok. . . i dont want to be that girl crying. . im sure she looked amazing but everyone feels different. . .

YOu know what it is...we see our own imperfections that no one else notices...and Unfortunately even if you say to the person you look amazing and etc they may think that you are just saying that to make them feel better. If i was in that situation I may or may not of said something its hard when you want to help... and like you said if she is a LI Bride then ...'Girl your FH loves you for you and trust me I had the same moment the frist time I tried my dress on...if everyone says you look great then you do no matter what you may see...its ok be excited and enjoy your getting married.'

I probably wouldn't have said anything either because in all probability no matter what I would have said she still would have hated it. I feel bad for her though.

I guess I'm the odd man out - I would have said something like, 'I know you're not so happy right now, but as someone who is completely objective, I just wanted to tell you that I think you really look beautiful'

It wouldn't be the first time I made that type of comment to a fellow bride in a bridal store.

I prob would have said something like 'I saw how upset you were and just wanted to say that you really do look beautiful in the dress '

i think i probably would have said something but after she was out of teh dress (so as not to make it worse)
kind of like i know you were upset before but from another brides Point of view, you looked really gorgoeus - i would hate to see another bride that upset!

that is a tough one - if it was me, i might have said something... but if i was the crying bride, i don't know that i would have wanted anyone to! that's is such a hard call to make...

i would have said she looked great. when i was in the dress shop a few times--i did see girls in their dresses, and whether they hated it or not, before i could see their reaction...i did say how beautiful the dress looked on them.

That is so said to hear, I probably would of told her she looked beautiful in her dress. sometimes we just need to hear it from someone.

This is a sticky situation....at first I thought I would say something and then I thought about if I was in that situation and having a stranger come up to me and say that...I would have probably thanked them, but it wouldn't do much good.

Perhaps, like someone else posted, say something after she was out of the dress.

I probably would have told her that she looks beautiful in her dress.
Could have been that she was over-emotional at the time.
