What would you prefer? WITH POLL!

For my bm gifts, (there's 6 of them), I was just thinking of buying their dresses for them...I already paid for it in full, and told them they can give me the money at a later time, since I was considering buying it for them anyway...it comes to like $160 a piece, and to be honest, I find it easier to pay for the dresses than to think of gifts so late in the game..my wedding is in less than a month! Would you like that as a gift or should I get something tangible? I would give them each a card at the rehearsal dinner stating that my gift to them is the dress.. what do you think? TIA

being that BP's can get so expensive and 9 times out of 10 the gifts that BM's get are rarely something that they use over and over again... i would vote for buying the dress all the way!! i mean, money is money and that will make being in the wedding a lot easier for most of the girls (it would for me if i were in it)!! HTH!!

i think they would all love the idea and really appreciate it but maybe ask them before, tell them your idea and see what they say-- i would be delighted if you bought the dress for me

I think that buying the dresses is a great idea and I would love that if someone did that for me as the gift.

I agree. I'd rather not have to spend $160 than get a gift.

my best friend bought me the dress but she also gave me a shirt that said maid of honor....I think it's great not to have the burden of paying for the dress, but I think it's nice to get them a little something like my best friend did.

It alleviates the burden on the BMs and it also makes it easier for you!

It is a good idea and maybe give them a small token for being in the wedding an inexpesive frame with a picture of you and the bm's

I recently decided to buy my BM their dresses because not all of them had $150 to spend on one dress. They were so grateful and it made me happy to know that they will get to be a part of my day without having to put any financial strain on them. They have all been in other bridal parties in the past, and they have all said to me that buying their dresses was the best gift they ever received! If you have the extra $$, I would definitely recommend it!

Thanks ladies, I'm definitely going ahead with that idea and buying the dresses....besides, if i would to have bought a gift for each, it wouldn't have amounted to 160, so even though the dress is more money than any gift i would've bought each, it helps with them paying for hair/makeup and whatever they need to buy

The dress idea is really great!!

Just make sure you set up what you want to do about alterations and what -not. Make sure they know that they have to take care of them on their own (if thats what you are planning on doing).

I would leave no stone unturned!! LOL

I say buy the dress. It's better than ending up with some piece of jewelry that matches and its cute with the dress, but I'll never wear again.

Maybe write them all a nice card as a tank you for the RD.
