What's a good digital camera?

And reasonable?

FH tells me I don't need one right now, but I think this is the PERFECT time to get one. My camera finally has had it this past weekend and I'm already going through photo withdrawals knowing I don't have a camera...

Any recommendations???

ALSO, can I get the pics developed at a regular photo place? or any pics I want I have to print myself? I need HELP!

I have the Canon S30, you want to buy a camera with high pixels. The S30 has 3.2 mega pixels.

You can not have the pictures developed at the store. You need a good quality color printer to print out the images. You download the pictures onto your computer and then print them on photo paper using your printer. You can buy the photo paper at Staples or OfficeMax.

Before you purchase the camera go out and buy the consumer reports book or go to their website. Good luck!

You can upload your pictures to an online photo store like Ofoto.com, Snapfish.com or Shutterfly.com. You can prints made there and mailed to you.
I have a Canon Elph Powershot S330--which I love. It's small, very portable and the quality of the images are excellent.

It is so easy to work with and easy to upload pictures.

We have the Canon Powershot G2 - awesome camera. I don't think you can go wrong with Canon. You should check out reviews - my SO found them really helpful during his (6 months of research) search for a digital.

Also going in person to hold them - get a feel for them...some people like grips, some prefer the feel of the Elph's.

It's not that hard to figure out but Nikon has come out with some newer ones that are probably better, but its fun..

We have a higher-end type digital camera that uses lenses and filters. It is a Nikon 995. I got it for DH as an e-gift. Now Nikon has some even more advanced ones. Sonic Stef has done some research on this topic also.
Do you want a point and click or something more like an SLR?
