What's a good gift to send to a newborn and the family??

Flowers would be evry nice, my sister just had her baby a few months ago and she got lots of flowers and stuffed animals. It was very much appreciated!

My friend had a baby a few months ago and since her DH is allergic to flowers me and my friend sent this

and added this for her 2 1/2 year old son

and wrote 'Big Brother Michael' on it.

We just got our friends this gift basket. It's full of bibs and bath products (by Burt's bees) and a blankie. They LOVED it!

Those are really nice gifts!

I sent an arrangement of irises and freesia. And something from their registry (there wasn't a shower, I think for religious reasons).

well I would send a little gift for the baby.... an outfit or blanket with the name embordered or something but the best gift I recieved after my son was born was a gift certificate for a spa manicure and pedicure!!! so when I was finally able to get out of the house I could go and relax!
