What's a reasonable amount for BM dresses

I've been in 3 weddings as a BM/MOH. I never really asked the price of the dress b/c I knew that if the bride decided on it then I'd pay for it. (Unless it was some astronomical amount like $350 before alterations).

What would you consider a reasonable amount to pay for a BM dress PRIOR to alterations?

personally i think anything over $200 is too a lot for a dress that most people are only going to wear once.... but it also depends on who the bride is and my relationship to them

anything over $200 is crazy

id say $99-$200 is a good price range

I think that with alterations girls shouldn't really pay more than $225-$250.

I think under $250 is basically reasonable.

I think up to $200, pre-alterations, is reasonable.

I agree with nothing over 200

bm dresss for my wedding were 155 through david's bridal...

i think anything your bms are comfortable paying for.... the dress i picked out now (cuz i had to change them for before) are 285 but i get a 20% discount so they come out to 230... i made sure everyone was ok with this and they assured me that its totally fine... but i think average is about 200

i say no more than $200 but talk to your girls about it. they might be ok with paying more.
