Re: What's a slipper basket?
From what I gather, it is a basket filled with slippers to give to your crazy dancing guests whose feet are killing them. I think some girls mention using the mesh chinese slippers (you know the ones with the beading on the toe)
I am not sure what sizes to get them in, but I am guessing you would get a range of sizes. Probably a lot of 7's and 8's.

Re: What's a slipper basket?
The slipper basket started a number of years ago in some celebrity and upscale weddings - a few hours into the reception, waiters would bring around a basket of slippers to the guests so that they could change out of their shoes and be more comfortable while dancing.
I remember about 5 years ago when I was a waitress for a caterer, I worked a party where the slipper basket thing was done - I had never seen it before, but the MOB handed me this big tray and said 'You must make sure people take slippers!' I was so confused that I gave them out and people started giving me their shoes in exchange! I went back into the kitchen with like 10 people's pairs of shoes.
Since then it's gotten pretty popular and the baskets can be left in the bathroom or brought out later in the evening. A number of brides have done it at their weddings and have posted pics, saying that it was a big hit with their guests.
