What's an appropriate gift?

One of my friends is getting married in California this weekend and unfortunately due to scheduling stuff we aren't able to make it. I'm going to send her a card with money but I don't know what's a good amount... She and her fiance were at my wedding last month and they gave us 300... Should I give 300 or 200? I was just going to give 300 to make it even but then dh was saying we should give 200 cause we're not going to the wedding... I dunno

I would definitely give the same amount they gave you. Especially because you're not going to the wedding and you're not incurring the cost of travelling. IMO.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, especially since we're not spending the money to travel there
