In the five years that I've lived in my home, I've NEVER seen the tides as low as it was today. Anyone get a chance to see, or know what's going on? Is there a full moon tonight (still, even full moon tides are not this drastic).
Probably something to do with the storm...just wondering if anyone heard anything about the LI Beaches. Thanks

There's a new moon tomorrow night. That probably explains it. It does seem though that every year the tides get lower and lower.

FUnny, after I posted this, I looked up and found out about the new moon...but I've never seen it this low.

My parents have a beach house that we go to in the summer and I've been going since I was a baby. Every year the low tides get lower and lower. Last year when there was a new moon and it was low tide, we were literally stranded. There was only a narrow strip of water and it wasn't deep enough for the boat to drive in. We had to stay until high tide.
