Me and my FH just got our engagement photos done yesterday and they really came out beautiful. I'm just wondering though what the purpose is of these pictures? All i knew is that I had to do 'em (and i really, really wanted to) but I'm just curious as to if they're 'supposed' to be used for a certain purpose.
What are you all doing with yours?

people often play those pictures, along with candids, when they do the video projection at the wedding for their guests to see. Any other reason, I'm not so sure, but they're a nice keepsake to have

We had one displayed at the RH, on the piano with family wedding pics (parents, grandparents)
The biggest reasons we did them were to get comfortable with the photographer, and also being in front of the camera.

We displayed our favorite at our reception and we gave our parents and aunt and uncles copies and framed them for Christmas.
In this pic, you can kinda see us...the other pics are of our parents and grandparents.

The pictures are a great way to see how your photog works and kind of a way to make sure youre going to like your wedding pics. You also can display one of some of the pics throughout the RH during the wedding.

we are gong to use ours as the 'table numbers' at our reception...a different pic at every table...but i also wanted them for us...to look back on when we're old and fat...LOL

We just didn't have alot of pictures of us together since we met and I wanted some pictures of us that werent' wedding pictures.
I also wanted to test our photographers before the wedding.
I used the photos for STDs, also making a slideshow video for people to watch on the bus on their way over to the Wedding.
Our familes love our pictures, I'm really happy I did it.

we used ours for our table numbers and our cardbox. We also created an album on mypublisher.com.

my photog does them so that they can see how we photograph and what works and doesnt work so that on our wedding day we will have gorgeous pictures! plus, you can reassure yourself that you like your photographer and work well with them also.

We're taking them because we don't have a ton of pics of us together. Also, they came with our package so why not? We get one pic as a signture board and we're going to use it at our RD for our family and bridal party to sign.

aside from just wanting nice photos of us, we also enlarged one to use on our placecard table, which then got moved to our vienesse table. i also included some in our wedding slideshow.

So our parents have some nice, professional pics of us - instead of the self portraits LOL But if they weren't included in the package then I wouldn't have gotten then done.
