I would say that Kaui is the most romantic and Maui is the most fun. It is true what they say about the Four Seasons Resort on the Big Island. They have these ridiculous lava rock showers outside certain rooms, but they are mega bucks. If you've got the $$$, I say go for it!!! FH and I couldn't afford it!!!
Girl, every island is romantic. They are all gorgeous and beautiful. You can relax or go out on an excursion. Oahu had it all, a fun city and a beautiful ocean. It's a city, but it's no NY. You can do anything there you want. In terms of romantic looks, the Hyatt in kauai was very romantic. It had hammocks and two person swings. It would be a wonderful movie scene. But, in reality, my FH and I do not stare at each other all day long swinging. We bond by having fun. So, like I said, any island is great. I highly recommend the hyatts. The free breakfasts are amazing!
Kuai is very quiet and Maui has a mix
We went to Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the big island for our honeymoon. HANDS DOWN Kauai is the most romantic. It is the most green, calm, and I felt like in general there were more couples, less families, and the families that were there mostly didn't have small children.
The Big Island, Kona- without a doubt. It is without a doubt the most wonderful place ever- so romantic and the absolute best honeymooning place. DH and I splurged and stayed at the Four Seasons there and I cried the day I checked out. Very expensive but the most worthwhile money we ever lay down. Check out the prices- there might be some deals too!
I lived in Oahu Hawaii for a year. The most romantic and beautiful island was Kauai. Oahu has the most to do. If you go back for a couple days make sure you leave waikiki and see the North Shore Beaches and head over to the windward side of the island (only about a 20 min. drive). Kailua is beautiful and so is Hanama bay(known for the best snorkeling). The big island is the only island I haven't been too, but I hear it's beautiful too. Maui was okay (compared to the other islands).
I would say Maui and Kauai. I've been to Big Island and Oahu, while they were gorgeous, they are both not truly honeymoonish to me. Maui is a mix between kauai and oahu, it has more activities and places to eat. Kauai is lush and has amazing scenery. If you're looking to just sit on the beach all day and relax and don't really care about much else...then go to Kauai. If you want a little more to do and more choice in where to eat, i'd say go to Maui! Were doing both to cover our bases!
