What's the big secret?

Does anyone else wonder why people don't reveal their wedding venues, photographers, etc? It seems kind of silly to be talking to everyone on here but be all secretive - lol!

Just wondered if anyone else was curious?

in the past there has been brides that canceled another persons reception hall.

yeah im guessing they JUST tried bc in order to cancel an RH you have to give in a letter then sign papers and do other things so not like somebody can just call and say cancel my wedding and thats it

Seriously??? Cancel someone's wedding?? That sounds a bit crazy, but ok...at least it's a reason.

I do have a friend who's brother is getting married and his ex-fiancee is a crazy stalker - she would do something like that...people are nuts!

Yes this is why-I actually had another bride call my RH and try to cancel my reception-i was OOT so she thought she could get away with it..dont know who it was-my BM called me and knew it wasnt me b/c they didnt use my FULL name when calling

Stupid assses. They also do it b/c to cancel other vendors you dont need to go in person-you can just fax a letter.

because you hear these horror stories of crazy people getting mad at you and canceling your flowers, RH, d.j...

or they want your vendor who is booked for that day and they call pretending to be you and cancel so they can have your slot

what is wrong with some people, they are F*IN NUTS but like you said its hard to just cancel like that, considering your RH has to contact you to do other things in order to cancel plus if they dont know your full name then wont work

Yea it was more funny to me then scary...for once I was glad that I hated my full name and only use it for the important/legal stuff. Otherwise who knows.

I personally don't post my info because I simply dont feel like it. Its not a matter of stalkers or anything like that. I just come on this site to get ideas, because this site compared to many others have the best ideas, and a bunch of smart sassy chics!

I never understood that myself... I look at it this way... It is all on our wedding website for the world to view anyway. Like our invitations - Some ladies block out the names/places.

but with the invitations yes i do the same, sorry but there are crazy ppl who do try to cancel your vendors BUT with the fact that ppl dont know MY last name it makes it easier since they cant call inwith my full name

I just am not comfortable putting personal information on the internet. I do appreciate the advice and great ideas from all of you, but I like being mostly anonymous. If I FM with people, I totally give more personal info, but I don't like it all being so out there. I'm also paranoid about putting pics up.

ETA: I hope that doesn't offend anyone. Its not that I don't trust the people on here, its the rest of the net, and I don't want friends/family to see all I post too.

just a heads up... its very easy to figure out a lot of info through LIW. Like if your username has future ____ and then you have your FH's first name listed, anyone could type it in in a registry search and get YOUR full name too (if they have your date it makes it even easier to figure out who you are if it's a common name). Same thing if you've ever posted your last name or your FH's.

I don't really know that people would be all that successful in cancelling your vendors, but a lot of times you arent as anon as you think you are

hmm i really don't think it is silly if someone decides to withhold certain information on this site .. i don't think it is anything personal it could be for so many reasons, maybe they are paranoid about stalkers, maybe they want certain things to be a surprise for others that lurk....
