I love to buy all little things and make a basket. Buy some bottles, clothes, toys.... I did that once for one of my friend's baby showers and she went nuts over it.

I went to a baby shower and they had a nice hamper and inside they had all baby clothers on a long clothes line. It was really cute!

I was thinking of doing that in a laundry basket, but a hamper's cute, too! Thanks!

I've seen the turtle sand box filled with toys, I've seen a toy chest filled with books and lately my new favorite gift to give is a gift certificate to Babies R Us or a photography studio to have pics of the baby taken...I usually give nice frame to accompany the gift certificate. It's always a big hit.

I did the clothesline for my sil's twins (1 and 1 )

I just used one of those $3 baskets from Michaels, adn strung it all up

a tip to 'stretch' your clothesline a little longer...buy a pack of onesies, a pack of socks, some bibs or recieving blankets, and even the little hats if you see them - they'll make the liine stretch longer, without costing as much as that many outfits!

And check out Carter's! They have adorable stuff, great quality, and not expensive!!

We get things for my nieces and nephew in there all the time!

Robbie got a LOT of cute stuff.... my favorite was a Radio Flyer ride on rocket... my 3 year old STILL plays with it. I also got an old fashioned wooden rocking horse that we adore, a boat bed from pottery barn that is sooo cute - but since they don't have sailboat theme in the room anymore, it is in the spare room for sleepover guests. The hand crocheted stuff was always good for big ooohs and ahhhs..

But honestly.. the stuff I loved the best... was the stuff I used all the time... my boppy pillow, the crib, MY GLIDER *I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT THAT GLIDER ROCKER!*

Here are pics of the type of horse and the rocket.

so simple, and I never thought of it, but I saw it at a shower, and it was a good idea...it was a pail and shovel for the beach, with some diapers the baby can go in the water with, and suntan lotion, a visor, a robe...all the things a baby needs to go to the beach with...it was actually really adorable!

For my aunt's wedding, (and we have made them since) we made a diaper cake that went over huge! Just a 'cute' way to give diapers as part of the gift. Just an idea....

great idea!

Do you think a lot of people do this now? Will I be one of a few girls that show up with this gift if I do it?

at my aunt's shower her two sisters bought her a wicker hamper - which i thought was kind of weird but then they pulled out a rope and the clothes pinned all cute little outfits of all different sizes to it - it was cute

i don't know about cutest-- but the most practical was the 'pack and play' which was awesome-- and then there is also this little thing (it's like a little boppy chair for the baby to sit in) and it vibrates and just cradles the baby-- then the vibration puts it to sleep!

I usually like to buy the bathtub and fill it with all the things the baby will need to take a bath - wash cloths, robe, towels, baby wash, etc. Sometimes I fill it with other odds and ends - pacifiers, bottles, onesies. So far, everyone loves it!! My MOH said it was her favorite gift!
