Do you want the dress true tea length or as it is? When I slip it on the dress falls about half way between my knee and my ankle.
True tea length is JUST below the knee, so her dress is too long right now, right? I should tell her to go for 'true tea length?'

Re: What's the definition of 'true tea length'?
I looked this up.. i work in the fashion industry & the girls in my office all say the same thing.. a few inches below the knee to a few inches above the ankle... i found a definition on a bridal website ---- A tea-length bridesmaid dress is one that falls between the bottom of the knee and the bottom of the calf (about three or four inches above the ankle). It is generally considered the “in-between” length, as it falls between the cocktail-length dress and the full-length dress. Tea-length bridesmaid dresses are ideal for semi-formal and casual weddings. They are versatile and attractive on most figures; consequently, tea-length bridesmaid dresses have become increasingly popular in recent years.

I've never heard of true tea length. I googled and this is what i got...
'What is a tea length wedding dress? Tea length dresses fall between the knee and ankle, usually about mid-calf. '
Do you have other girls wearing the same thing? You can pick whichever length is most flattering, however I would suggest that everyone has to do it as well....(that's if you have more than one girl)

My BM's wore tea length...here is a pic.... I guess it all depends on where you would like it. All 3 BM's did not have the same length and I honestly didn't care...
Well if you want it the same, why don't you tell them that you want it xx inches from the floor (make sure they wear their shoes). I think that would make all the girls even....wouldn't it?

My BMs had tea length, and they had them altered at different places, yeah the lengths were slightly different on all of them, but it really didn't matter.
I don't have a great pic here, but here's one that might give you an idea:

Re: What's the definition of 'true tea length'?
My girls wore tea length dresses. At first, I was stressing b/c some people said they should all be the same amount of inches up from the floor while others said they should be the same amount of inches from the knee. My girls ended up doing whatever looked best for their body b/c I had some girls who were tall and skinny, others who were short and skinny, and some in between. It ended up being fine and no one noticed any differences.

I was told it ranged from 1-3' below the knee....depending on how tall your BMs are....

Won't it be different for each girl depending on her weight and height?

to make it easy, i told the girls to tell their seamstresses just below the knee. they all looked fine. i think having the same inches off the ground would make the dresses look different on each girl, just pick a spot on the leg and tell them to get it hemmed there.
