a ceremony and a mass? What's the time difference also.
I haven't booked my church yet, but we are not sure if want a full mass
or just a ceremony. It all depends on the time difference, my friend says
it's only a difference of 15 minutes. anyone know?

The big difference is that people receive communion at a mass. It is a combination of a mass and wedding vows.

A ceremony has church readers and a homily, but no prayers.

I have been a bridesmaid in both and the mass is about an hour and the ceremony can be 20 minutes to a half hour depending on the priest.

Difference is about a half hour. At mass you recieve Communion at ceremony you dont.

thanks ladies. Another question. I have not done my communion nor
confirmation (I am taking the classes now) but do I have to have these
things done if I ony have a ceremony and since there will be no communion
in a ceremony?

I think and I am not positive but as long as one of you have received the sacraments you are good to go either way. The priest asked me if we wanted a mass or a cermony and my FH is considered Jewish. I opted for the cermony since enough people are mad that we are getting married in a church did want overkill.

thanks. I guess it's all down to time limits. I want to have enough
time for pics and to be there at my cocktail hour. I plan on getting
married in Uniondale and my reception is in Smithtown
