I have heard a lot of girls use an invisible pen on the back of the rsvp's if that is what you are talking about.

each time I was enveloping one suite of invites I would put a # on the back of the RSVP that corresponded to the person's # on the list
not sure what can be any other process

I have an excel spreadsheet with everyone's name/address...whatever # is next to their name on the spreadsheet I wrote on the back of their RSVP.

I didn't use an invisible pen which according to C-Lover is shameful (she said so on her RSVP ) but I couldn't be bothered to crack out that damn light every time someone RSVP'd and I liked to organize them by #.
