Whats the going rate on Communions Nowadays??

I haven't been to one in a while. It is for a cousin of mine. I was thinking of getting her a pair of tanzanite earrings (Tiny studs, she's little) and giving $50. Is that too much or just right?? Thanks!!!

Thank you!! I want to be as generous as I can possibly afford to be. My cousins were EXTREMELY generous to us at the wedding. So figuring it is a communion, I thought spending $100 or a little more(don't quite know how much the earrings will be) would be generous enough!!

I'm a 2nd grade teacher in a catholic school & get invited to my share of communion parties... It seems the going rate is anywhere from $35 (kinda on the low end) to $100 or so (for a couple).
