what's the longest distance between church and RH?
Hey guys, I will have quite a number of people from out of town at our wedding.
I'd like to take an informal poll of how far is too far between the church and the reception.
Distance/time to get there wise-not how many hours in between.

Are you planning to provide transportation for your out of town guests to get from the church to RH and back? If so, then no distance is really that far. if not, then anything beyond a few blocks (ie, walking distance) is too far, at least in my opinion.
My fiance and I were invited to an out of town wedding (his 2nd cousin was getting married in FL), and we were given no info about hotels nor about transportation...we found our own hotel and rented a car, and I found that very annoying.

I will definitely provide transportation.
I am having a really hard time.
I got engaged last weekend and really have my heart set on next fall but it is not playing out and I am stressing big time.
I am out-of-town but my family is there running around trying to make decisions for me and it is stressing me out! They are picking places which I think are CHEESEY. I am thinking to start looking like an hour away (and will provide transportation for out of towners and I guess in towners).
I just need to open my options.

Ours is 45-an hr. Brookville (CW Post) to Lindenhurst (Chateau La Mer)

Mine is 40 minutes - Port Jeff to Sayville. And I'm not providing transportation. Everyone has a car and I don't think it is too much to ask.

Mine is about 15 mins away from eachother...depends on traffic, could be a few mins more, few mins less..

I totally didn't even think about how OOT people would get there.. Is that really our responsibility to provide transportation?? Something else to worry about now..

I wouldn't say it's a responsibility to provide transportation, but more of a courtesy...after all, they're paying the expenses to come to the wedding and also paying for the hotel, so I want my OOT guests to have a way to get from X to Y without worry. We also have a bunch of friends our age who don't drive, so providing transportation for OOT guests will also allow these friends to get to the RH.

My church is about 30 min from RH. i also have a lot of OOT guests. I was figuring that a bunch of them will drive straight to the church so they will have their cars, meaning they will then drive to the hotel after the ceremony and I was planning on providing transportation from the hotel to RH and back to the hotel after the reception. HTH!

ceremony (brookville/old westbury) to reception JT (Mineola) is about 15-20mins.
but i've gone to weddings that the distance has been longer and it wasn't a big deal.

Our church is in Ronkonkoma, and the hall is in Woodbury - so it's about a half an hour drive.
We are not providing transportation, the OOT guests will be driving in so they will all have cars. I don't forsee it being a problem. The distance is part of the reason I didn't want a Friday night because I didn't want the guests to sit in traffic, there;s my courtesy lol.

45minutes to an hour... from Westbury to Port Jeff. I am not providing transportation. Most people are coming in from the West and heading out east and I secured a hotel out there.
