What sort of deposit do they typically require? I've been trying to pre-pay my hall, but I want to make sure I leave enough money out to do my dress shopping in the late-Spring - - - but I have no idea how much they expect up front .
TIA

I had to pay 60%, the rest once it comes in and alterations are complete, I think.

I put down half on the dress. The rest is due when I pick it up.

I had to pay half (actually, almost half...for some reason, the shop rounded down to the nearest hundred, which was cool) when I ordered. The other half is due before alterations, then alterations are separate.

what i have heard is usually it is half the amount when you put in on hold. 1/4 when you get your first fitting. then the rest when you pick it up. that is how my cousins and friends did it. also davids bridal was telling me the same thing.

with david's bridal, we have to pay it in full when we ordered it. once it came in, i tried it on to make sure it was the right size.
