What's the strangest way you've made a good friend?

I have two:

First is my friend Debbie.
She met my friend Freddie on the internet & she flew here to NY from California to meet him. Freddie had to work alot during the week & I had off so he asked me to show her around. Well they never hit it off, but we did, she is now a great friend of 3 years and she is one of my bridesmaids!

The second is my friend Janice from Oklahoma. I used to work for a limousine company. Janice used a limousine company one evening in Oklahoma and called an 800 phone #. The company in Oklahama & my company here in NY had the same name. She called to inquire about a cute chauffeur she had the night she used the limousine and we talked for an hour, and became freinds, now it's 4 years later & we are good friends

My friend Kelly
through my online journal. She has an online journal too and I commented on something she wrote. We began reading each other journals and finding out what was going on in each others lives. She lives in the same city as my FI and we hang out whenever I go there. She even came to NY to stay with me for the weekend.

Freshman orientation at my college is where I met my friend Gina.

Orientation was an entire weekend and I was sitting at a table all by myself when she came over and asked if she could sit with me. She asked what group I belonged too and I told her group 2. She said her too. At the same time we screamed 'JP is so cute' JP was our group leader.

Turned out we had every class together and every semester since we always made sure to have at least 1 class together.

This was 5 years ago and we are still good friends

I went away to college as a sophomore transfer student to the same school one of my best friends from high school went to.
On my first Friday there, my HS friend took me to happy hour with her friends. By 10:00 I was passed out face down on a table in a corner, while my friend got wasted and partied. Her roommate, and best college friend, who I hadn't met before that night, felt sorry for me, and took me back to campus on the bus, while I puked the whole way. She then helped me take out my contacts and wash my face, then gave me her sweats and t-shirt and put me to bed in her bed before going back out. My HS friend never once commented on my leaving, or the state I was in when I left.
11 years later, the roommate and I are now SO very close, and haven't seen or spoken to my HS friend in years.

I met my friend, Cindy at Club Med. She was there with her former psycho boyfriend and I was there hanging out with my girlfriend. Some drunk guy fell on my toe and broke it---Cindy helped me to the nearest first aid station--THE BAR!! She fed me Cosmopolitans and packed my foot in ice so I could stop screaming!!! We all still laugh about it.

How did I forget to add my friend Terri from Pennsylvania?
I met her while in Jamaica in the jacuzzi!
We are good friends 4 yrs later. I have been to her home for the weekend....she will even be at my wedding

I met my bf AnnMarie the summer of 6th grade. A friend of mine was seeing some guy and was fixing me up with his friend. AnnMarie was his ex girlfirend and still hung out in that crowd. We hated each other. Than one night the 'guys' went off to do their own thing and the girls hung out by themselves. By the end of that night we were best friends and have been ever since. We have been each others maids of honor. I don't know what I would have done without her all these years. She is like another sister and is a big part of my family.

My friend Toni, who was a friend of a friend in college but I didn't like her, thought she was 'too cool' and even called her a 'b!tch'! Of course, one of my snap judgments turned out to be false!! We're really good friends and she's not friends with the other girl anymore and neither am I.

I've been trying to think of an answer for this since I first saw this thread... I don't think I have one for it... I met all my friends the normal way.... I guess we're just a bunch of plain janes

I dont know if its the strangest but its how i met my good friend Nicole.

Same scene Freshman orientation. We too wound up having a lot of classes together, but she was born and raised Long Island girl and I was born and raised Queens girl. She thought I was a B!tch and I thought she was stuck up. Our entire Freshmn year we couldnt wait for it to be over so she and I can split ways. (she was a liberal arts major and I was an English major)

Sophomore year woohoo Nicole and I never have to see each other. Its a big campus. Not big enough, we wound up joining the same sorority. At first she was going to drop, but wound up staying and I am glad she did. We were new members together and we wound up becoming good friends.

I have this one friend whom I love and she is so special I met her from a Club message board.. I met her in the park.. She told me about her best friend (who is another angel ) and said you should talk to her. You 2 would get along....

She was RIGHT!!

There are two friends that I have met in unusual ways…

The Summer after my Sophomore year of College( 11 years ago) I worked at North Shore Day amp in Glen Cove and I was really good friends with these two guys Robbie and John. John was dating a girl named Frances ( Robbies parents were also Frances Parents best friends). So when we would hang out after work, we all became really friendly. Then when we all went back to school and Frances went to Hofstra and I went to CW POST I would go and rescue her from her dorm and we would go shopping…. The most ironic thing was that I was dating a guy in college and She caught him cheating on me. And she was a good enough friend to call me and tell me…and we have been friends ever since

My other friend, Michelle, my moms best friends son introduced us and we both ending up dating guys who were friends, so we would go out as a group and the funny thing is that I was friends with her husband before she even met ohm. And we both were part of each other’s wedding….
