My fiance and I always said we wanted to have our ceremony at the R.H.
Our current plan is to have the ceremony at the Reception Hall, on the water. Eventually when we get back from our honeymoon. Do a small church ceremony, just because I would like to eventually baptize our children.
I always love going to weddings where the ceremony is at the R.H. Everyone is all dressed up, its more conveniant for the guests. no long 3 hour waits...
However, Im becoming torn. If it rains, Im not crazy about the chapel room at the R.H. It would be nice to have him Not see me before the pictures. I wont have to worry about paying 2 fee's(donations) Wont have to worry about hiring 2 musicians. Maybe I should just have it on our wedding day, at the church?
Am I being a hypocrite if my FH and I never go to the church only the reception and now all of a sudden I decide to do a church ceremony?
So confused. Anyone's opinions? both sides?

Re: What's your opinion about the ceremony?
What if you did a small vow renewal ceremony to celebrate your 1 year anniversary?
Unless you were planning on trying for kids before then ....

Re: What's your opinion about the ceremony?
you can christen your kids even if you arent married in the church
if its not important to you then maybe you should jsut do it at the RH
if it is meaningful to you then you should share it with your friends, families and guests
JMO! good luck!

Re: What's your opinion about the ceremony?
You can christen your kids without being married in a church but the church strongly suggests you get married in a church...
But you do what makes you and FH happy. It's your wedding

FIL request that we get married in church. I'm okay with it because it saves us money from renting the RH. At the end of the day, I'm happy

For me, a church ceremony Greek Orthodox style in which you have to stand for over an hour and walk around a table 3 times with crowns on your head and then a BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING at a RH

We're getting married in a church, but I would be fine attending the ceremony wherever the bride and groom decided to have it, whether it be in a church or at their RH.

Re: What's your opinion about the ceremony?
We are getting marrie din the church. I have always invisioned myself walking down the asile and Fh standing up at the alter waiting for me. If your going to end up getting married in the church afterwards why not just do it on the actual wedding day, this way you don't have to be charged twice...once for the rental of the Rh for the ceremony and then for the church afterwards. It's what you want though. If you have your heart set on the RH then do it. But if you want it at the church then do it at the church. I have herd that you do have to be marrie din a church fo ryour kids to be christened. Cause I know preist don't marry outside of the church. So that is something I would ask your preist.

ditto
we're not church ppl at all....so we're marrying at RH. family was upset about it, BUT i would rather marry at a hall, than be disrespectful to those who marry in the church because it's important to them and their religious beliefs. i definitely would have felt like a hypocrite marrying in a catholic church just cause my family wants us too.
you have to do what makes you feel right. IMHO marrying in the church just cause you don't like the RH chapel isn't exactly a great reason....but you and FH have to discuss that and determine what is best for you. good luck!
ETA: i do like ceremonies at the hall cause there's no long gap and you go straight to the partying right after!
