Ok so I am thinking wheatgrass for our new CP's because I just like the simplicity of it and its gardeny, CHEAP!, AND seems super easy to grow based on bridal reviews on The Knot.
These are some ideas....Not sure whether we will make them longer trays. squares or circles but we are going to put gerber daisies in them. We will sprinkle gerber heads around it and candles. We might sue terra cotta plants, might use the plastic holders they give us or use galvanized buckets. Not sure yet. if I can find cheap boxes, we might do that.
What do you think?

i love this look. if you are doing DIY keep in mind the gerbs require constant hydration. so if you are using gerbera heads don't cut them until last minute cause they wilt and shrivel rather quickly.

I think that looks so pretty-I love #1 and #3. It looks very simplistic and clean. I love it!

Yay! You bumped!!!
I think this is a great idea. I was actually at Macy's Herald Square today scoping out some flowers at their flower show. I saw some displays with wheatgrass and thought they were gorgeous. I really like the pic you posted of the one with the pink ribbon around the base.

Re: Wheatgrass!
Thanks guys. Flowerbride-Do they wilt quickly in bo-k's? I have seen tons of pics of hand tied bo-ks and they seemed to do fine. Do they really wilt that fast? Will they die during our 'before the ceremony' pics are done?

Re: Wheatgrass!
Wheat grass does not do well after its outside of soil and sunlight. I know this because i purchase it for food for my turtles and it dies if i snip it out to feed them. I have to lay the entire pot in the enclosure for it survive a week.
I love the cp.. i am a big fan of it. I love green and grass and spring!

Re: Wheatgrass!
Heh thanks for that but i meant the gerbers not the grass :) I dont know what i am going to do with all this wheatgrass lol. No one in my family is a health nut. Maybe I will post a sign saying, 'grass for sale.'
Then agin -grin- in my neighborhood that would bring a WHOLE different clientele...ahem...
I found another daisy grass centerpiece!

Re: Wheatgrass!
Does anyone out there know if gerbera daisies in these CP (LOVE the last one) have to be wired? Or do they just need the water tubes?

I love your idea, goes perfect with your theme. I've never seen a CP like this at a wedding !! It's totally different & very pretty. I wouldn't know how to go about doing it but I can't wait to see the results !

Re: Wheatgrass!
Does anyone know if gerbers in a hand-tied bouquet would last for several hours out of water?
Any girls who hand hand-tied gerbers, this question is for you.
We are going to take our pics before the ceremony-before 11:30 am around 9:30ish. Girls will use them for the photos and then put them back into water. Then they will be out again for the half hour ceremony. Will they wilt without a constant watersource?
