Book my honeymoon? Although I don't know to where.
Order my dress?
Meet my banquet manager and go for a tasting?
Get excited/nervous/overwhelmed?
We have been engaged for almost 6 weeks and while I love FI to death, I work in the wedding industry and I am unnaturally calm. My friends ask if I am excited and nervous, and obviously I am, just not going crazy.
When am I supposed to do all these things?
I know the wedding magazines give you a timeline, but let's be real girls.

Re: When am I supposed to....
I would register right away.. at least for some stuff. People will start getting you engage, ent gifts and you want to make sure you get what you want/need.
Dress-- I would start looking about 9 months or so before the wedding. To give yourself time to find the perfect dress.
HM- start researching cause it's fun. I would book 6 to 8 months before.
Meeting your BM- I think it depends on your venue.. I don;t do that til like a month or two before the wedding- but every place is different.

Re: When am I supposed to....
you should definitly start looking at dresses asap. Many designers can take months to come in. and many girls have a hard time picking a dress and finding the perfect one can take a few months.
Your honeymoon... why dont you do a search on here. There are threads listing where everyone is going maybe it will give you some ideas.
Register - you can do that now! Why wait get it over with. Esp. if you dont know when your shower will be.

Re: When am I supposed to....
my dress takes 6-9 months to come in so I would start doing that now.
Registering is fun...you don't have to register for everything right now but you should try to pick out your dishes, flatware, kitchen stuff etc. While we mostly have gotten money as EG (since we didn't have EP), we did receive two place settings of our china and a couple things off our registry.
As far as I know you don't have to pick your menu/food tasting till about a month or so before the wedding.
The honeymoon FH are still undecided about and will probably finalize after the new year when we have money and time to do it!

Re: When am I supposed to....
I don't think there is any set answer to your question...a lot of it is convenience and when you have the ca$h, etc. but here are a few ideas that can be guidelines...
i think you can register at ANY time...just kinda monitor your registries online to watch for things being discontinued because they are seasonal or, well, discontinued-ha!
honeymoon, i think they say 6mos out, but we're not really going on one, just a little mini-moon for a few days close-by, so in my case we can get by with doing it close to the wedding.
order you dress around the year mark i say, or start looking. perhaps you can get it at a trunk sale or through ebay or a sample, then you'll have it in hand much sooner, but if you order it they can take up to 9 mos to make i hear...ordered mine in June and i get it in March.
Sooner the better when booking a venue.
Get excited/nervous/overwhelmed...well that comes and goes i think. but i'm sure as the day gets closer the feelings are proportionately greater.
in the end i would tell you the earlier the better. better to get it done than be late and crunched, and possibly miss out on a vendor because they are busy.
And i think you'll get there emotionally. we're just all wired differently and it proly hasn't hit you yet...it will. but even then you may just be cool about it. doesn't mean you aren't excited or nervous. i'm pretty blah about my wedding and don't talk about it to my friends, but that's because i get it all out here!

Re: When am I supposed to....
I already picked out my dress, I just haven't ordered it yet.
My BMs are giving me a little problem about the dresses, so I just canned the whole thing till after the holidays.
Hopefully, after the new year I'll be able to focus a liitle better.......

Re: When am I supposed to....
I would love to have everything done as far advance as possible BUT....
Although I picked out a dress, the place told me not to place my order until February or even March or else I'd have to take it home and bring it back for fittings. (I live in NYC & they're on LI--no can do with traveling with dress).
As for registering, if you do it too far in advance, like someone else said, just check back. LOTS of stuff becomes discontinued, is seasonal, etc. Also, you may find seasonal things that you really like closer to your date.
As for freaking out, who says this is a requirement? You can be excited and happy in your own way. I think it's a false notion that we all have to become frantic adn that wedding planning has to be stressful. It just doesn't. It often happens when things out of your control go awry, but everyone's experience is different! Enjoy YOUR experience!!!
