When and where do you get

a marriage license?

where do i go for that and do we have to get it within 60 days? 30 days of getting married?

i asked a bunch of people and they had no idea??

i read up on this because we're both in AZ and won't be in NY until 2 days before the wedding. so here's the info.

you need to go to your local town hall. you both need to be there in person and need your birth certificate and a picture id.

the license is valid for 60 days and there is a 24 hr waiting period between when you actually get the license and can get married.

You get it at city hall. It expires in 60 days, so I would get it around 2-3 weeks b4 the wedding. You both have to be present and they are only open M-F.

but the brookhaven office in farmingville is open until 630pm one weeknight....
so at least you might be able to get away with not taking time off from work!
