when are you most likely to buy something from ebay?
I'm listing one of my purses on ebay (an authentic Louis Vuitton bag) and I'm wondering when the best time to have the auction end is. It's 4:30 eastern time, and 3:30 central time.... so a lot of people are at work right now. I'm doing a 7 day auction, so it will end at the same time and day of the week that I start it.
Is it better to wait until tonight? or 6pm?
When do you think bag-bidders will be more likely to have computer access? I know people can set up 'snipes' but FH thinks I should wait.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: I added the link. I know everyone here is saving for weddings, but if you have any friends who like LV bags can you pass on my auction?
OK, I'll save it. I already wrote up the listing and am ready to submit it, but I think e-bay lets you save it and if not I'll email myself the HTML code.

i usually list @ 10pm it gives people on the west coast time to bid.

hmmm.. i guess i was too impatient! i listed it around 7:30pm ET....
i just hope the darn thing sells because it's a waste of $$ just sitting in my closet!
the best ebay deal i ever got was a random bid at 2am central time while writing a paper guess nobody was still up to bid against me!

its always best to have you item end on a saturday evening or after 8pm..people have just gotten paid and usually are not at work
i always have the best sueccess when my auction ends on saturdays and friday nights as well..
i sell a lot of wholesale things on there and have made excellent money..im actually taking another day off from work every week to focus on my ebay business

it should definitely be later.. people work and stuff and west coast is 3 hours behind...
i say 9 or 10pm

I'm not an expert eBayer, but I do bid and watch a lot. Ending the auction during the week is key for me... also, either during the day (like 12pm-4pm) or later at night (7pm-9pm) works best for me because I can keep an eye on it while I am at work and I know I'll be home during those times at night (after the commute).
And here's my opinion on the price of the bag. I think you should bump up the starting bid to be a little closer to the BIN price. That's JMO, because people, I think, tend to 'watch' the item and during the last hour of bidding, people will start going back and forth and I doubt the price will more than double and go higher than the BIN price. KWIM?
