That's what I figured. I am making my own so I was just looking for some direction. Do you know if there are any special procedures for mailing them? Like can I just put them in the mail box drop off or do i need to talk to my post office? I know, weird question but I remember reading somewhere that there is special instructions for mailing wedding invites.
Are there any kind of pretty stamps?

You need to go to the post office because if you stick a regular 42 cent stamp and drop it in the mail it may not get delivered (invites are usually more than standard postage)

It's not too soon for out of towners, but it may be too soon for local people.
For my October 4th wedding, we sent out invites in early July (3 months prior) for people overseas in Europe and Asia. We knew no one would book airfare until they got the invite and we just wanted to help them along!
For everyone else, we mailed them in early August, which was 2 months prior.

IMO 4 months is a little too much time in between because people may stash your invitation and forget about it.. and then suddenly you are left w/o RSVPs come your RSVP date.. but thats JMO!
