When Austin Scarlett started designing for Kenneth Pool did ... ?
I am wondering when Kenneth Pool moved from KP to Priscilla and Austen Scarlett took over KP's designer, did they then remove the Kenneth Pool for Kenneth Pool dresses from circulation and only sell Austen's designs -- or do they still sell both???
I think when I was at the Kenneth Pool for Amsale boutique I only saw Austen's designs!
In fact, generally speaking how long do the older season designs still get sold for? I know mine is Spring 2007 line and one of Austen's first and favorite designs, but what about other designs? How long after the season do they still get sold for? Or does it depend on their success?

They must have just recently changed bec when I was at the KP for Amsale store everything was still Amsale

It is still Amsale, she is the owner, and has the KP line, Amsale line and Christos Line
Austin Scarlett designs for the KP line
I would have to look up what year he took over the KP line, im not sure

Kenneth Pool definitely no longer designs for KP. He started Platinum for Priscilla.
As of the Spring 2007 collection (of which my dress is a part of) Austin Scarlett is the sole creative director and designer of Kenneth Pool.
Starting with the spring 2007 collection, the entire Kenneth Pool line will be Austin Scarlett original designs.

amsale started KP, KP went on to start Priscilla...He is the creative director and designer but not the owner or anything like that...since KP has austin designing for him, he can do Priscilla...I am sure its going to keep going in a cycle...my above post i wrote that KP is still his own, meaning he didn't sell it to austin or anything like that...they just are confusing hahahaha

Ok I didn't know he still owned it, I thought Amsale owned it actually.
In fact according to the NYTimes Kenneth Pool left Kenneth Pool by Amsale. Also, Priscilla wasn't started by KP it was started 60+ years ago by Priscilla Comins Kidder. I think KP just designs for Platinum along with Melissa Sweet and was brought on when the Platinum line debuted.
I am curious though as Austin's designs are so different from KP (although obviously still glamorous like KPs) can you still find KP by KP availble at KP or could you still order one?
Who knows, it's all so confusing!

sorry amsale is the one who started kp which i stated above, but for them to use his name he has to have a percentage in it, or evenjust the simple fact that the kenneth pool name is trademarked. Yes from what ive seen KP just does the platinum line

i dont know but considering i had 3 hours of sleep i am beyond confused right now
i know in some stores, but this was early-mid 2007, they still had kp dresses from 2005 and 2006. You can call stores and check to see if they still have some. I am sure they needed to get rid of the samples so i know at least at a sample sale you'll have better luck...if you want to see if they have it available, call amsale or kleinfelds and you can ask them about particular dresses and they'll let you know whether or not they still have it

So funny you guys posted this, i was flipping around the tv and i started watching the the real houswives of the O.C because one of them is getting married and one of the wives actually went to meet with Austin Scarlett and he was showing her all these KP dresses and called them 'his line'... i was confused. The dresses were all beautiful.....I love his dresses.

Yea that was a great episode, i dont think she bought a gown though, but he assisted her in trying on alot of gowns...she put on the one me and melissa have. Very fun Episode!
