...the food tasting with the catering hall? Right after you booked or did you wait a while?

We didn't even need to book ours, we had ours the day we walked in, and without an appointment no less!! Our BM explained that we should be able to have a tasting of the same foods that the guests were having at that time. (We went there on a Sunday evening.)
Most places we went to said it could always be scheduled at least a few days in advance, and it was almost always during the week. Some people don't even have their tastings until they're making their payments!!

I'm at JT too and no one offered us a food tasting the day of! You're the second JT bride to say that she had her tasting the day she booked! I feel a little disgruntled now. My BM (Rob) said the food tasting usually happens a few weeks before the wedding. Then FMIL said 'what happens if you're paying all of this money and dont like the food?'. Which made sense so I had to ask. Thanks!

we had our tasting about a month after booking. and after the tasting, I was 1000% sure of the choice in a hall that we made

I am in Jericho Terrace also, and they offered for us to taste their food. We did taste it, but I knew how the food was, because i went to a wedding there before, and the food was to die to die for.

JT bride here too! Booked in january '04, tasted the food last week! i knew their food was insane so i didnt need one.
