invites will be going out around the end of august...when do you typically start your seating arrangements? As they come in, or did you have a rough draft done beforehand?

i did it as soon as i got all the rsvp's back. i actually used the rsvp cards as the guide and just moved them around on chart paper.
if you start before getting rsvp cards you will end up changing things a million times.

I asked for RSVP's a little more then a month before, started seating 1 month out.

I've been sorting my RSVPs as they come in into friends, family, etc for each side. I'll start the seating chart after all of the RSVPs are back.

I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do beforehand. As I got the rsvp's, I positioned everything out on a poster board and drew up the floor plan with tables and how many I could put at each table.
Then at the bottom of the board, I listed table number 1-12 and under each number put however many seats I could have at that table and started filling them with names as the rsvps started coming in.
Setting it up this way also helped when typing up my place card information for the printer.

We did it when we had our final count. About a week and a half before the wedding. It was really quick and painless for us. We wrote every ones names on small post its and got a piece of poster board and did the tables that way. It made it much easier to move ppl around. I know someone ppl have a horrible time with this part but it was really easy and stress free for us.
