I ordered mine in the beginning of January for my April wedding I wanted to order by November but I obviously missed the mark. However, if you get obsessed with invites like I did, start looking now and ordering samples.

I placed the order at the end of august last year..... but it was a custom letterpress job, so it takes a bit longer than other types of invitations...
still, it was WAY in advance

If you are getting married in 08' I would not order them now. Your taste may change, they are always coming out with new stuff and invites don't take that long to order. Unless you find something that is to die for, I would wait IMO.
I ordered mine end of Jan for my May Wedding.

thanks ladies - so I should be good if I order them about 5 mos in advance.....
I just want to order them NOW! Because like QueenB said - I am pretty much obsessed with invites.

ordered 2 or 3 weeks ago & had to work with the proofs.... they are finally coming this week - wedding is 5/27

I believe invites should be ordered about 6-8mths prior to the weddding I THINK...however, if you see something you like now, I dont see why you should wait. Just keep in mind that you may like it now and then 5mths later you may see something else that you love even more. That has happened to me with my veil, cake topper and tiara lol...so sometimes its best to be a little patient.
