How many months prior to your wedding did you order and go over design? My hall uses MaCayla Michaels....has anyone ever used them or know of them? I don't have to use them I can go elsewhere...if they are no good I was going to try the Rolling Pin

I do not know when you are supposed to do this. Maybe just call your rh or the baker.

We went last weekend! We are running super late. They didn't have a problem with it and it was the place we went to from our hall!
I also order a groom's cake (Simpson's) from the Sugar Chic as a surprise about three months ago.

I'm most likely going with the cake that is included from my RH, I was there today and they told me the name and address of the bakery that they use and said that if I wanted to do a tasting to make an appt by the end of July because I will have to pick my cake in August. So I would say that you should start looking into it now if you are thinking of using a different bakery. Not sure if this helps....

We are also using Rolling Pin. We ordered ours about six weeks before but I tend to wait til the last minute for a lot of things! It was plenty of time for them though. I really liked Dave, the owner, and he made a point of having us stick to a cake that wouldn't cost us any extra.
