I was about 11 years old and I went snooping around the house. I went into my parents closet and looked under a sheet and there were a ton of presents going all the way to the back of the closet and they were all signed from SANTA. Needless to say, I quickly ran out and told my brother, who in turn ran to my mother and told her I found them. Man was she pissed. I got in so much trouble!!!

Re: When did you stop believing in SANTA?
I was in 2nd grade and my teacher(a nun) announced it to the class and I remember some kids crying

Re: When did you stop believing in SANTA?
I went back and read this entire thread and I have to say I disagree with saying that you hope your child tells other children there is no santa claus. What is good for one, may shatter another...
I respect everyones opinions and decisions especially how they raise their own child, but I so disagree with this statement...
I also agree with disliking the commercialization of not just Christmas..but every holiday but children do not have to be spoiled to believe in the magic..
I just think we should be fair to all people's beliefs and traditions and not try to ruin it for another.

Re: When did you stop believing in SANTA?
I don't remember when I stopped believing in Santa but it definitely wasn't a crushing experience for me. It was actually touching to me to learn that all those years it had been my mom all along... and she didn't need to take credit for it, she was happy just giving... which to me is what it's all about... It made me appreciate her more, I think.... I must've been around 8 yrs old.

Re: When did you stop believing in SANTA?
I was such a loser .. it was in first grade that I stopped believing in Santa (of course, no one told me I was right) ..
What's worse is that the idiot that I was blabs in class how there just can't be a Santa .. boy, did I sure spoil the day for a lot of kids! .. And I got pulled out into the hallway by the teacher .. she was sweet though .. told me that's fine if I don't want to believe, but don't ruin it for the other kids.
ETS: I do feel really bad about shooting my mouth off like that in class .. I still remember the shock in the kids faces when I dared to say there was no Santa.
