When do I have to..

Order invitations
Order bridesmaid dresses by

Am I cutting it close if I'm getting married in may and wanted to order bm dresses in December?

Hey Jill,
I had the girls ordered their BM dresses in May (5 months before the wedding) and they said it was plenty of time but to be honest their dresses didnt come in until 3 weeks before the wedding and it was stressing me out. Everything got done and all the girls have their dresses but just to be safe maybe give it at least 6 months before.

For invites, i would say 2-3 months before you want to send them out. It really depends on where you order it from though. I went to an actual printing company and got my invites 1 week after I ordered them.

I would order everything sooner rather than later just in case there is a problem, you'll have time to fix it. but this is coming from someone who is a worrier :

Thank you soo much!!! Yeah i dont want to be stressed waiting for the dresses. I will def get on it soon. Your day is almost here im so excited for you!!!!

Soon! Mine are already ordered for March 2012.

You're getting married at my new favorite venue.... the Inn at New Hyde Park!!! So beautiful! Not in my price range but still lovely!!

i would have your BM's order those dresses soon and order those invites ASAP! at least 2 months before the wedding those invites need to go out and you don't want to pay a rush fee. Depending on who you will buy them from could depend on how long they take to make.

I got married in May and brought my MOH to shop around for dresses in October. We found one that day, and the girls had a cut-off date of 12/21 - 5 months prior to the wedding - to order their dresses before a 'rush fee' would be charged. Definitely try to avoid that!

I started picking out invitations before Christmas and had them finalized just after the holidays - about 4 months prior to our wedding. I mailed them out in the beginning of March.
