When do I need to get my marriage license??

Wedding is September 29th

You have 60 days so you can probably go very soon. You will need a 35.00 money order (only) and ID.

I am going in August!

Thanks for the info!! This might be a stupid question, but our wedding is in Oakdale, so do we need to go the town hall in Oakdale to get our license?

Sarah is really good and soooo sweet! I loved the hair, but I also might try another style that I found recently.

The invites are just about done, we had a hold up because Diana was trying to find a printer to do thermography for us. She wasn't having any luck and we were running out of time so we decided to forget it. She's overnighting my sample to me today!

we paid cash.. and also needed a birth certificate OR baptismal certificate, in addition to an ID..

I think the fee depends on what town you are in! Brookhaven is $40.

We paid cash..40 dollars. We went to the town hall in Hempstead and I showed my license and insurance card...forgot my birth certificate at home but the insurance card worked just the same. Good luck!

DANG!! Im getting married in Milwaukee, WI and I just went on their website to find out their requirements....

Its $100 for the frekin license!! That seems a little steep to me! And we can only apply 30 days prior, and no later than 7 days before. That only leaves a small window of time to get it done!

Nope it doesnt. Anywhere in the state of NY. Nassau or Suffolk county doesnt matter.

There is also a 24 hour waiting period to use your liscense. So make sure you dont' wait until the day before.

Our minister advised us that the city hall one in Manhattan only accepts money orders, NO OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT.

Maybe other municipalities are different, but just a warning for anyone going in Manhattan.

If you are getting married on LI you can go to any town hall and get your marriage license. The fee varies...35-40 I think is the variable. You need 2 forms of ID and one has to be a photo ID...DL, passport, Birth certificate, etc.

We went to Town Hall in Hempstead. We needed 2 forms of ID (We brought birth certificates and driver's licenses) and $40 fee. We paid the fee in cash.

We were in and out in about 15-20 minutes.

You need to go no more than 60 days before the wedding -- and there is a 24-hour waiting period, so you cannot get it the day before the wedding.
