When do I register?

When do I register?

I will be 14 weeks this Friday, just starting my second trimester. My question is, when should I go register? I keep saying I should wait till after the holidays but then I don't want to do it too soon. When is the average time to do it? And where is the best place to go, Babies R Us or BuyBuy Baby?

I already have an 8 year old at home, it's just been so long since I had a baby I feel like a 1st timer!! Plus so much has changed in the last 8 years and I kept nothing from my daughter. Needless to say me and my husband (it's his first baby) are very excited about our new arrival.

I guess you can do it whenever you want....but I think most people do it some time between 20-25 weeks. I registered at 20 weeks, right after I found out the sex.

Re: When do I register?

BRU told me most people register in the 5 or 6th month. I did at about 22 weeks or so after my Level II sonogram. BRU told me in January/February new merchandise and patterns tend to come out. I know I registered in October and already some of the stuff I registered for are considered discontinued patterns so they told me I should wait until the new ones come out next year - unfortunately I can't wait since I am due in February and my shower will be in January.

We registered early 17 weeks because we were back in NY. Otherwise, I would probably would have waited until I was around 25 weeks.

Re: When do I register?

I started the registry at 14 weeks as we entered the 2nd Trimester.

I had family bothering me about getting one started before the holidays also I wanted Dh's advice and he will be gone some of my 2nd and 3rd trimester.

I think anytime between 15-22 weeks is norm

Re: When do I register?

I am 21 weeks now and planning on registering after the holidays.. This way the stores will be less crowded. I guess that would make me 6 months...
