I have received several gifts from people who are not coming to the wedding. Do I send a thank you card now or do I wait till after the wedding when I have a nice one with a picture? Or do I send one both times?

I would send a quick thank you, or give them a call and thank them, and then send a formal one with a pic after the wedding.....you have up to 6 months to send the formal thank yous, i wouldnt want to wait that long since you wont get to thank them for coming the day of.

We sent both, a TY when we received the gift and then we are going to send a TY from the wedding

I'm dealing with not having done thank yous now...
We got some gifts a few months out and decided to wait to open then and send thank yous until after the wedding. I really wish I had done them when we received them b/c it has increased the # I'm doing all at once.
Agree with others though that you could do one now and another later when you have the 'nice' cards.

definitely send a quick thank-you note to let them know you received the gift. Then you could also send them another thank you with your wedding pic.

Give them a call to let them know you have received their gift, but still send a formal thank you card after the wedding, you can include a picture of you and your FH.
You can even write out the card now and save it to send with the picture once the wedding is over.

Not sure what is customary but, We sent them with all of our thank yous w/ pics and all. I planned on getting my thankyous out pretty quick and my mom suggested waiting to send them with pics.
