I ordered my dress in August for my March wedding...it was supposed to be delivered in December. I know things kind of stop for a few weeks around Christmas, so I've been patient, but...it's January 26th, and my wedding is in 56 days....
should I start to worry now, or am I worried over nothing?
how long is really necessary for fittings & alterations?

Re: when do I start to worry?
I would call the shop. It may have come in and they may not have had a chance to call you.

Call them. Go down there or call them. You never know with fittings and everything!

Re: when do I start to worry?
My friend got married on Sept 30 and her dress didn't come in until mid August - she had enough time for fittings/alterations.
But if they told you it would be in in December, I would call to follow up.

Re: when do I start to worry?
oh, I'd be pitching a tent outside the shop.... forget the @#$% niceties. pester them until they give you your dress!
my veil woman is making my brain implode... The veil was supposed to come in this week, and they couldn't find the invoice. She then told me that pronovias misordered the veil, and was making the wrong one....

Re: when do I start to worry?
My wedding is in three weeks exactly and my dress is being expressed mail so that it will arrive today (my first fitting is today at 3:30-so it better be here!!)
I was told it would be in around november! i would definitely start pestering them if I was you, if only to save yourself the aggrevation closer to the wedding. my dress is coming in with only 21 days to go, I am sure you will be fine, BUT no bride should have to worry about their wedding dress. So call, go to the bridal shop, do whatever you ahve to do!
I was actually very calm and accomodating until this week when everyone around me was getting nervous too. Then I called the dress company directly.
Good luck, I am sure everything will work out and you will be a beautiful bride! let us know what happens!

Hi Date Twin...I would def be calling and harassing them! I've already had two fittings...but I ordered very early! Just call to check on it...at least if it's on their minds...they will be calling the person they ordered it from!

Re: when do I start to worry?
I'll call Phyllis today - she is so on top of things that I just don't feel too worried about it - but I will call today ...
I'm trying to be a 'low-stress' kind of bride this time around....my 1st wedding I was pitching tents outside the dress shop and tellling the florist every single flower to place in each bo-k....
I'm really trying to stay calm....but I think it's time to be cautiously concerned...

Re: when do I start to worry?
Usually fittings are scheduled 5 to 6 weeks before the wedding. I agree with everyone that you should go down there in person and ask what backup plan is there if the dress does not come in on time.
Worse come to worse go to Davids Bridal and see what you can buy off the rack last minute, just so you have a backup for your wedding day.
