I know some girls on here said they sent them out 3 weeks after the wedding, or at least that is what I think I read.
Don't you usually send out your thank-you's with one of the pro pics??? If so, it will be a while until I get them right?
I am going to send out regular thank you cards to people who came to the ceremony but didn't attend the reception. But, as far as the other guests, what do I do?

Every bride is different. If you want to send out pro pics then you obviously have to wait until you get the pics. If you're just doing personalized stationery, then you should do it soon after the wedding.

I think that nowadays people are aware that many couples are waiting for their propic thank you's, so they aren't expecting them right away.
We sent ours out quickly but that's because I just wanted to be done with everything wedding related(except for LIW) . IMO I wouldn't wait longer than six months.

People will understand, especially if they know you are a busy person (am in lawschool)...

We went to a wedding back in August and still have not recieved a thank you card...I know for a fact that the couple recieved their cards bc other people got thank you's, not everyone got one just a few select people. Just dont do what they did and only send to some right away and not others...try to mail them all out at once within 6-8 weeks of the wedding, and make sure to get on the photog to get you your picture's right away!!!

it depends if u want to use a photo thank u or not..if u r not then u can do them right away with a hand written note or wait for the propics and then send them out..some people even use a web photo service with the proofs to have them done that way so that they can use a phto from thewedding without having to wait for the pro pics..hth

Proper etiquette is 2-4 months within the wedding or having received the gift. Many brides don't follow this rule, but if you want to follow proper etiquette, then those are the actual rules. Remember if you wait for your photograher's photo thank you notes and wait longer than this you are running the risk of insulting some ppl (especially older ppl), who are aware of these social graces.
