When do you ask.......

When do you ask the RB and FG parents to have their kids be a part of the wedding? Also the readers at the church? Our wedding is still over a year away and I wanted to ask everyone in person but I wont see my cousin (reader) and her son(RB) until Thanksgiving since they live upstate. Is the phone too impersonal or can I put it off that long? I dont want it to look like they were teh second choice when they were far from that.

Any suggestions?

I think if they live out of town it's understandable to ask over the phone. Or maybe you could send a cute card or cookie/candy or something to the RB with a note.

If they are close by, maybe take a day trip to their house or try to set up a lunch or dinner before thanksgiving....

I think people are undestanding of circumstances.

We asked everyone about 1 year prior.
You can definitely ask those that are close in person but for those that are out of town you can send a cute card asking ~>make sure this is mailed to the parents with a note in it so they know what it is. I dont think its impersonal to ask over the phone at all, but I would send a card or something first.

AND Thanksgiving is not that late to ask, if you would prefer to do it in person then I would just wait until then
