when do you DIY CP?

if you're using no flowers, i can see doing them days in advance. but if you are using real flowers....when would you put them together? who takes them to the RH?
i'm considering this DIY project. sounds like it can be fun & the start of somethiing new i can do for our home.

eh... good question! I would post that on Vendors Helping Brides - maybe a florist will be able to guide you with that... HTH

i love trying creative things, even if they don't always come out the way i first intended. i think this is my favorite part of the whole wedding planning process. i can't wait to do our invitations!

My sister did her own floral CPs. The flowers arrived at my house 2 days before the wedding, unopened. They required a bit of care during that time and then we finished arranging them the morning of the wedding. A family friend volunteered to drop them off at the RH that afternoon. HTH!

I think it would depend on what kind of flowers you are using. The hardier the flower the longer it would last. I was going to try and do my own too but there would be no time for me to put them together and then get them to the hall, plus not sure that they would have a refridgerator big enough to put them in or one that they could even put flowers into. I would think they would need to stay colder to stay fresh. I know when we meet w/ a florist the other day she said that she starts putting boutenierres together on a wednesday if the wedding is Saturday and then moves to the corsages and the bouquets lasts but they would still be done on Thursday night or Friday morning. She said as long as they have a water source and cool place to put them they would be fine. I would assume this would apply to the centerpieces as well. I would definitely call a florist and ask if they could tell you.

We made DIY CPs but used candles and fake petals, no real flowers. We put them together the week of the wedding and put each one in its own box. We brought them, and everything else, to the RH the Thursday night before our Saturday wedding.
