We got ours 2 months before. The girls were 4 and 7 so we knew they could grow. You could shop early to see what you like but wait to buy them.

Yeah definitely wait. I bought my FG dress last year and I bought it in larger size but now I am worried that she might be too tall for the dress!

iM GETTING MARRIED IN MAY AND MY PLACE TOLD ME TO ORDER HER DRESS IN FEBRUARY

I was told to order three months prior to the wedding.
