1 year in advance is fine. I sent mine out 11 months in advance!!!

I just sent mine out this past weekend. Our wedding is a holiday weekend, so I wanted to get them out early.

We will be using our engagment photo.. so we hope to take them early May.. sooo after we get them I will make a STD.. they are going out right after that..!

I actually just sent mine out (woo hoo ), approximately 9 months in advance, but i say mail them out whenever you want to. I would have done it sooner but just didn't have the time.

I'm in the minority (and on the wrong board), but I don't think you should send them more than 6 months in advance unless it's a holiday weekend. If I got a STD now for a wedding a year from now I'd probably loose it before I got my 2007 calender to write the date down. I know it's exciting that you're planning the wedding and you're doing all of this planning, but I don't think that you should send them out too early.You can (and should) let people know by word of mouth now, but save the STD for a few months before you send the invitation.

Also, with so much time until your wedding your guest list might change - do you want to risk being obligated to invite people you haven't spoken to in 9 months to your wedding?

I'm sending mine out the beginning of the year. Just so people will already have their 2007 calendars out and can put our wedding date down! But I'm in October, so they still have basically the whole year.

I would say you could mail yours out next month!
