When do you pay the church/officiant

When do you pay the church/officiant

I am using an online budget tool which I love. For all wedding stuff, I had to put a down payment and am making payments or was told when they are due. I wasn't told anything about when to pay for the Church and the Officiant's fee. Before I ask my Priest, just curious what the standard is. I am almost thinking perhaps the day of the wedding?

i have to pay the 'donation' 2 months before; I would read your 'handbook', that's what priest keeps telling me to do when I ask him questions....

We had to pay a week before the wedding, but don't worry when your wedding gets close they will call you everyday to 'remind' you that you still have not made your 'donation'

we paid at the rehearsal the night before the wedding. We also gave the deacon our baptismal certificates that night. Also, DH and I and our MOH and BM signed the marriage license that night.

Oh yeah. I DID get that 'handbook'. I sorta put it away and didn't bother to look at it again. Glad I didn't ask the priest anything yet. He seems rather impatient and fussy-well, for a priest!
