When do you send ...

So what is the consensus on how many months prior to the wedding do you send out your save the dates???

I would say 7-8 months before. Unless your wedding falls on a holiday weekend. Otherwise, I think that is sufficient

I sent mine in September- so 9 mos. out. I'd send them a little earlier if you have a lot of OOT guests or your wedding is on a holiday weekend or if it's a destination wedding.

I'm sending mine out the weekend of my 1 year mark (April 29). My guests should start receiving it the beginning of may

I'm going to send mine out about a year in advance for this very reason. We have 70+ OOT guests! Want to make sure they're all WELL INFORMED of the wedding date wayyyyyyyyy beforehand.

I'd say anywhere between 8-12 months in advance (early if you are having a wedding on a holiday weekend or destination).

We are planning on sending ours out the beginning of June, so a little under the year mark.

Formal etiquette guides suggest 6 months...but as everyone is saying I'd round way up if you are having your wedding on a holiday weekend and/or you have a ton of OOTers.
