When do you send out the invitations?

When do you send out the invitations?

I'm hearing 2 months before, 3 months before... so I'm not sure.

When are you/did you sending yours out?

I read in many books that 4-6 weeks is standard. More than that and it might be TOO much because people forget!
BUT if you have a lot of 'out of towners' and you are NOT sending save the date cards, you can send them out 6-8 weeks before.

I think it depends on you. I'm sending them out by the second week of April because I have a May 15 RSVP date. My wedding is in July, but I need to have an idea of who is coming to do my menus, OOT bags, etc and I can't wait until 2 weeks before the wedding to do this.

i've always heard that 6-8 weeks before is standard.

my timetable is:
invitations go out march 30-31
rsvp date may 4
wedding may 28

my wedding is on a holiday weekend, but i sent out save-the-dates - had i not sent those out, i probably would have sent out the invites a lot earlier.
