How many months before the wedding do you send out the invitations?

I think it depends on ur RSVP date...its about 8weeks prior to that.

i'm getting married in august and sending my out in late may.

Typically, this is how things are done in NY ... RSVP date 1 month (or 4 weeks) before the wedding, and mail out 2 months (or 8 weeks) before the wedding date:

Wedding Date: 7/20
RSVP Date: 6/20
Mail Out Date: 5/20

Outside of NY, many people would have an RSVP date 3 weeks before the wedding, and mail out 6 weeks before the wedding.

Wedding Date: 7/20
RSVP Date: 6/29
Mail Out Date: 6/8

If you have a lot of OOT guests, you might want to mail sooner

I was thinking of sending them out mid August.

My date is 7/1. I am sending them out the first week of may and making the rsvp date June 4.

I am getting married the day after you and am planning on sending them out mid-May. I am going to have my RSVP date a little more than a month beforehand. We are trying to just make just above the minimum number of guest necessary.
