When do you start the dreaded 'D' word

Original post by Just Cindy

Just wanted to know when everyone will start their diets?

My wedding will be in September 2009 and I want to lose a good amount of weight... at least 30 lbs if not 40.

I dont want to start to early...I already began my excercise routine and eating better but when does it become crunch time.

Thats great... I guess the sooner you start to lose then it just becomes maintenance

I haven't actually started a diet, but I did 'cut back' on certain things. I cut out sodas, breads and junk food. I need to weigh myself because the pants that use to be tight on me are loose.

I love when that happens!!

I don't like to call it dieting, I like to call it a change of lifestyle, because in order for me to loose as much as I did, I needed to change my whole mentallity and how I looked at food. I knew I would be setting my self up to fail if I said 'Oh just for the wedding im going to lose the weight'.
I had to think 'Just so I can live a long healthy life and stop getting depressed everytime I looked at the mirror I need to lose the weight'
