When do you 'thank you'?

My photo package came with a wholebunch of wallet size pictures which I am assuming go into the thank you notes. I've been reading that prrofs can somethimes take months, and so I was wondering when are thank yous typically sent out? Do you wait for the proofs or do you send them out asap?

you should get your proofs in a few weeks - then you pick out the TY pic first and have that made up. after you finish your thank yous then you go through the rest and pick out the album pics and enlargements.

most girls have TYs out within three months so the photog should have the proofs back to you within a few weeks after the wedding.

I plan on using the regular photo insert thank yous so I am going to make sure I have them before the wedding so I can write out all the TYs and then stick the pictures in when they come

You have up to a year to get your TYs out, tho most get them out within 6 months. Your photographer will have your proofs ready a few weeks after your wedding, then you pick a TY pic and they'll print those out for you so you can start getting them out.

Most people know this and so won't be expecting to receive a TY for a few months.

People say you have up to a year to get your thank yous out, but honestly... people DO notice and DO get upset if you wait any more than six months. I think waiting a year to send a thank you is really pushing it.

Honestly, I understand being BUSY - I work 70 hours a week on a good week - and I still think you should be able to get them out in less than 6 months (preferably less than 4). People do understand that it takes a few months, though. (but if you're not sending photos with the thank yous, you really should get those thank yous out ASAP - it's only right)

I don't plan to do a photo thank you. I'll probably include wallet-sized photos, but I can have those made from my proofs that I'll receive within a few weeks of the wedding.

I know it takes a really long time to write those thank you notes, but try not wait a year!
