I ordered my dress in February and haven't heard anything. When do you go for the first fitting?

I went for my first fitting about two months before my wedding. My second fitting was a month before.
But my dress was in for months before I did the fitting (ordered in July - came in in October, first fitting in Feb). Most places won't schedule fittings until 4-6 weeks before the day.
But I did try on MY dress a couple times once it came in - to check jewelry, veils, and just cause I loved wearing it!
You've got plenty of time. When is your dress expected? They told me 7 months and it only took 4

i went to a private seamstress 3 months before, and she spread the fittings out every 3-4 weeks. this was a perfect amount of time, but even if you go 2 months before, it's plenty of time.

My dress came in in June (Ordered in December) and my first fitting is this evening. My wedding is August 18th.
They told me they only needed 6-8 weeks before the wedding to get in all the fittings.

They estimated my dress to take 12-16 weeks so it should have been in a month ago. Nobody called me yet.

I would call them. They might just be waiting for the two month mark to contact you.

My wedding is on Oct 5 and Im having my first fitting on Friday. Its a little early but my schedule isn't that flexible. I'll have another in August and the last in September a few days before the wedding.

yikes! Now Im nervous, my wedding is on Sept 6, and my dress is not in yet, I just got a card today that my BM dresses and flowergirl are in. I guess I better call them and see whats up.

I had my first fitting Sept. 1 (about 6 weeks before) and then my second one was 2 weeks after that and the last one was a week before and then I picked it up 2 days before.

I went 5 weeks before my wedding...but I could have cut it shorter...they are fast...

I believe they usually ask for 6 weeks prior to teh wedding date. I don't think you should have to go earlier.

I am also getting married in Nov, due to the fact that I live in FL and a graduate student that is taking classes, doing research, and teaching lectures my schedule is not very flexiable esp, during the semester, so I am having my first fitting in the middle of Aug between the summer session (I am teaching) and the fall semester. My dress was shipped and should be in next week , it will be exciting to try it on. I will probably not be able to get back to NY agian until Nov to have my final fitting.

I am getting married the last weekend in October and also ordered my dress in February. I was told it would not come in until August....well last night I came home and had a message that it is in! I am so thrilled. They said I should make my first fitting appointment for early August!
