We bought our condo in July '03, applied for and got approved for STAR program. I keep expecting to see a difference in the mortgage since the taxes are suppose to be lowered, but it stays the same. When does the STAR discount kick in or should it have already? Who should I contact if it was suppose to happen already? TIA

The cutoff is March 1st. So you missed the date for this tax year. So it will be applied for 2005-2006 tax year. We are filling out our star form for next year.

They said we continue to pay the mortgage amount as though the taxes were without STAR, but then our mortgage company said we will be reimbursed the difference after they pay the taxes. I would check with your mortgage co. if you pay yout taxes with your mortgage. Good luck!

I'm so confused. Does that mean filing in 2003 isn't early enough to get credit in 2004? I guess I need to call mortgage company to explain this. Thanks for your help!!
